How to Apply for Financial Aid

These steps are a general guideline. Your financial aid process may include more steps, or less, depending on your eligibility and when you begin the process.

All official financial aid correspondence will go to the student's Viking email address. Students may not receive federal financial aid at different colleges during the same semester.

How to Apply for FAFSA and Financial Aid

  • STEP 1: Obtain your FSA ID online. All FAFSA contributors will need their own FSA ID.

  • STEP 2: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

    • Don't forget to include Grayson College's school code - 003570.

  • STEP 3: Check your Viking student email.

    • You will receive a notification through your student Viking email about additional information that will be required once the FAFSA has been processed.

  • STEP 4: Log into your MyViking Student Planner to complete any missing documents or additional paperwork required by the Department of Education.

    • Most forms can be completed and submitted online.

    • Fillable PDF forms are available online on Financial Aid Forms. Completed and signed forms can be submitted through the student's MyViking Student Planner.

  • STEP 5: Check MyViking Student Planner for your financial aid offers. Please contact admissions@grayson.edu if you do not have access to MyViking.
