Grayson College Expands Public Safety and Logistics Training with New West Campus Facility

Grayson College has opened the doors to its new Public Safety and Logistics Center, a 10,000-square-foot facility on the College’s West Campus that expands opportunities for students pursuing careers in law enforcement, criminal justice and commercial driving.
The newly repurposed facility, once part of a former Air Force base, marks a significant investment in workforce development and public safety education. Designed with both function and flexibility in mind, the space nearly doubles the capacity of the Texoma Regional Police Academy, giving more cadets the ability to train simultaneously and meet the region’s growing demand for qualified public safety professionals.
Inside, the center houses six modern classrooms equipped for flexible instruction, as well as dedicated spaces for practical, real-world training. To help accommodate campus growth during ongoing construction, the building also includes offices for six to eight additional faculty and staff members, ensuring continued support for students and programs.
One of the most notable enhancements is the air-conditioned physical fitness and defensive tactics training room. Outfitted with rubberized flooring, overhead equipment storage, and nearly twice the space of the previous location, the new room offers a safer, more comfortable environment for high-intensity training.
The facility also features a student and instructor break area to encourage collaboration, a high-tech CDL driving simulator to strengthen logistics training, and an expanded exterior CDL training course with a new concrete pad, providing students more room for hands-on vehicle operation.
This $5 million project reflects Grayson College’s continued commitment to serving the Texoma region through workforce and community partnerships. Funded through the 2024 bond initiative, the Public Safety and Logistics Training Center stands as another example of how Grayson College is preparing students for in-demand careers while supporting the region’s safety, mobility and economic vitality.
