We're proud to be part of research that reaches far beyond our campus.

Grayson College's Viticulture & Enology program recently welcomed Dr. Walter Chitarra and Dr. Luca Nera of Italy's CREA – Council for Agricultural Research and Economics, Grapevine Biotechnology and Physiology Lab, as they collected grapevine wood samples from our vineyard for a nationwide study of Pierce's Disease. The researchers are evaluating endophytes within the wood samples as part of their work to better understand the disease.

The connection was made through Michael Cook with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, helping bring this international research collaboration to Grayson College.

As the first of seven vineyard stops during their Texas research visit, we're honored our vineyard was selected because of its long-standing legacy and value to the industry. Opportunities like this reflect the impact of our program and the important role Grayson College continues to play in advancing viticulture research through collaboration with experts from around the world.
