Grayson College and North Central Texas College Launch North Texas Leadership Gateway Program

North Texas Leadership Gateway

Grayson College (GC), in partnership with North Central Texas College (NCTC), announces the launch of the North Texas Gateway Program, a joint initiative designed to develop the next generation of executive leaders in higher education.

This seven-month leadership development program (September 2025-April 2026) is open to full-time employees at GC and NCTC who supervise others and are committed to growing their leadership potential. From an application process earlier this fall, 16 employees were selected to form the inaugural class.

“The North Texas Leadership Gateway Program is about building a culture of leadership that strengthens higher education as a whole,” said Robyn Voight, GC Vice President of People and Culture. “By equipping our employees with the tools, experiences and perspectives they need to grow, we are cultivating a culture of collaboration, innovation and student-centered leadership that will serve our colleges and communities well into the future.”

The program, mainly designed by GC Learning and Development Coordinator Linda Derrick, engages the participants in 4-7 hours each month of development through workshops, group projects, leadership assessments and networking opportunities. The program will conclude in April 2026 with a leadership panel and graduation ceremony.

The curriculum emphasizes both personal growth and organizational impact, with focus areas including personal and team development, performance management, communication and conflict resolution, data and financial literacy in higher education, cross-departmental collaboration, leadership in action and commitment and gratitude and giving back.

“I’m very excited that our two colleges are able to partner for the North Texas Leadership Gateway program,” said Kay Schroeder, Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources at NCTC. “Not only will participants learn from each session and our guest speakers, but just as importantly, they’ll learn from each other. Building connections with those who have the same or very similar experiences, goals and challenges is powerful.”

The North Texas Leadership Gateway Program reflects both colleges’ commitment to strengthening leadership capacity across the region through collaboration, skill development and real-world application.
