Award Spring Scholarship Application Information
The Grayson College Foundation AwardSpring scholarship application will open on November 1, 2024 for the 2026 to 2027 award year.
Through the AwardSpring scholarship system, applicants can apply for all available scholarships by completing a single scholarship application. The AwardSpring system will automatically match applicants to scholarships based on the information provided through the scholarship application.
To access the scholarship application, click on the yellow “sign in with your school account” tab. Students cannot sign-in using the Administrators, Donors & Reviewers log-in area.
Students Who Have Not Applied to Grayson College
Future students must first complete the Grayson College Admission process before they can access the scholarship application.
Grayson College enrollment steps can be located on the college’s website.
After submitting the Grayson College Application, a welcome and acceptance email will be sent to the address you provided. An email containing your Student ID and instructions for accessing MyViking will be sent about 24-48 hours after you submit the Grayson College Application.
Your GC issued email address can be found in MyViking. Click the Gmail icon and hover over the account icon in the upper right side of the page to see your Viking email address. If you misplace the email with login instructions, you can locate your Viking email by going to grayson.edu and clicking MyViking. First time users must “Claim My Account” before logging in. After you claim your account, login or select “Forgot Password” or “Forgot Username” and follow the steps provided. Scholarship Application Feature Highlights
The scholarship platform provides a more user friendly application process for everyone. The following information highlights a few of the application’s features.
Essay Question: Applicants can either type their essay response in a word processing application and paste the data into the essay text box or type the essay directly into the text box. Note: The essay cannot be uploaded. Below is a snapshot of the essay section.
Scholarship Data
Applicants can click on individual scholarships to review the history, award criteria, application deadline, donor information, if available, and scholarship qualifications.
When applicants answer the scholarship questions, their responses are determining whether or not they qualify or a particular scholarship.
Once the applicant has completed the application process, they can view the scholarships that they have been matched to through their Dashboard.
Clicking on the words “Applied scholarships”, an applicant can view all scholarships in which they were matched.
The term applied scholarships only means the applicant has met the qualifications for a particular scholarship. The awarding process will be completed by the scholarship committee. Those applicants who are selected to receive a scholarship, will be notified through their Grayson College issued email address.
Following is an example of the scholarship data. The Lisa L. Powell Endowed Scholarship for the Visual Arts has three (3) requirements in which an applicant must meet before he or she can be matched to the Lisa L. Powell Scholarship for Visual Arts.

Steps to Apply for Grayson College Foundation Scholarships
- Access Your Account – Visit grayson.edu and select the Admission & Aid tab, click on Scholarships, click on Apply for GC Scholarships. Click on the yellow tab, Sign in with Your School Account, using your Viking email address and password.
- Start the Application - |The applicant’s demographic and college information will auto-populate into the AwardSpring application. Applicants will only see questions that are not pre-populated and/or are specific scholarship qualifying questions. Answer all questions, upload your transcript, if prompted, request your recommendation letter and review your dashboard for any follow up questions that may be required.
- Click the “Submit Application” button on the lower right corner of the screen. If the button is gray, your application is not Review the dashboard to determine any items that require attention. Each section of the application will show if it has been “completed” or is “in progress”. The graphic below indicates each section of the application has been completed and the applicant can submit the scholarship application using the yellow “Submit Application” button.

Awarding Process:
Applications are notified of their award through their Grayson College email account.
Scholarship Acceptance:
Scholarship recipients are notified via email to log into AwardSpring to complete the scholarship award follow-up questions to officially accept the scholarship.
The scholarship award is displayed on the recipient’s dashboard. To access the follow-up questions, the recipient will click the yellow tab, “complete follow-ups”. It is the responsibility of the recipient to read the follow-up questions completely.
Grayson College Foundation Scholarship Deadlines:
Priority Deadline - March 30, 2026
Applying by the priority deadline will provide the best opportunity to be considered for a Grayson College Foundation scholarship. We recommend all students, who are planning to attend Grayson College for the 2025/2026 academic year, to apply before the priority deadline.
Final Deadline – Extended to July 31, 2026
Applications received after the March 30 priority deadline will be considered as funds are available. If all scholarships have been awarded prior to the final deadline, the scholarship application will close until the next application period.
The AwardSpring scholarship application is scheduled to close on July 31, 2026.
