Dual Credit HVAC Program
Program Overview
The Grayson College Dual Credit HVAC Program prepares students for careers in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry through hands-on technical training and classroom instruction.
Students develop foundational skills in electrical systems for HVAC, refrigeration principles, blueprint reading, technical calculations, and industry practices while earning college credit during high school.
The program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment and continued advancement in the HVAC industry.

- Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technician Apprentice Certificate
Instruction & Curriculum
Courses are taught by Grayson College instructors and combine:
- Classroom instruction
- Hands-on laboratory experiences
- Technical HVAC training
- Industry-based applications and troubleshooting
Curriculum is designed to prepare students for employment and continued workforce training opportunities in HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Schedule
The HVAC program follows a structured schedule due to required laboratory and hands-on training components. Students should plan accordingly to accommodate class and lab times.
Class Location
Classes are offered only on our main campus in Denison. These courses are not offered on the South Campus in Van Alstyne.

Prerequisites
No prerequisites required.
Vaccination Requirement
Texas state law requires students under the age of 22 attending classes on a Grayson College campus to provide documentation of a meningococcal vaccination within the previous five years or submit a conscientious objection waiver prior to enrollment.
Tuition, Fees & Supplies
Tuition & Fees
- $102 per credit hour + applicable fees
- Inclusive Access textbook fee: $29.50 per credit hour
- Students who opt out of Inclusive Access should expect approximately $285 in textbook costs

Financial Aid
Full or partial tuition waivers may be available for dual credit students who qualify for free or reduced lunch programs.
