Dual Credit Cybersecurity Program

Program Overview

The Grayson College Dual Credit Cybersecurity Support Program prepares students for careers in information technology and cybersecurity by providing foundational training in networking, server administration, and information security.

Students work toward a Cybersecurity Support Occupational Skills Award (OSA) and Comptia Security + certification while developing practical skills in network infrastructure, server support, cybersecurity principles, and information technology security practices. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for entry-level cybersecurity and IT support positions as well as continued study in information technology fields.

Credential

Students completing the required coursework are eligible to earn a:

  • Cybersecurity Support Occupational Skills Award (OSA)
  • Comptia Security+ certification

The program also provides preparation for industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications and career pathways in information technology and network security.

Instruction & Curriculum

Courses are taught by Grayson College instructors and combine:

  • Online instruction
  • Virtual laboratory activities
  • Networking fundamentals
  • Server implementation and support
  • Cybersecurity principles
  • Information technology security practices
  • Industry-standard technology tools and concepts

Schedule

Courses are offered in an online format, providing flexibility for students while maintaining structured assignments, assessments, and instructor interaction.

Class Location

All courses are delivered online or in hybrid format on the main campus in Denison, Texas.

No prerequisites required.

Vaccination Requirement

Texas state law requires students under the age of 22 attending classes on a Grayson College campus to provide documentation of a meningococcal vaccination within the previous five years or submit a conscientious objection waiver prior to enrollment.

Tuition & Fees

  • $102 per credit hour + applicable fees

Textbooks & Digital Access

  • Viking E-Bundle: $29.50 per credit hour or approximately $1,500 total (subject to change)

Course Fees

  • $24 lab fees for ITSY 1300, ITNW 1325, and ITNW 1354
  • $275 course fee in ITSY 1300 for Comptia Security+ Testing fee

Financial Aid

Full or partial tuition waivers may be available for dual credit students who qualify for free or reduced lunch programs.
