Dual Credit Advanced Manufacturing Program

Program Overview

The Grayson College Dual Credit Advanced Manufacturing Program prepares students for careers in modern manufacturing, industrial production, and advanced technical operations. Students work toward a Basic Manufacturing Technician Certificate while developing hands-on skills in machining, manufacturing processes, process troubleshooting, safety, and technical measurement.

The program also prepares students to pursue nationally recognized certification opportunities through the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC).

Instruction combines classroom learning with practical laboratory and industrial training experiences designed to prepare students for employment and continued advancement in manufacturing industries.

Certificate

Students completing the required coursework are eligible to earn a:

  • Basic Manufacturing Technician Certificate

Students may also pursue MSSC national certification opportunities.

Instruction & Curriculum

Courses are taught by Grayson College instructors and combine:

  • Classroom instruction
  • Hands-on laboratory experiences
  • Manufacturing process training
  • Precision measurement and tooling
  • Machine shop fundamentals
  • Process troubleshooting
  • Workplace safety and industrial practices

Schedule

Advanced Manufacturing classes are offered Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m Due to laboratory and industrial training requirements, students should plan accordingly to accommodate class and lab schedules. Most courses are taught face-to-face, with some online coursework available. Classes are held on the Grayson College main campus in Denison.

No prerequisites required.

Vaccination Requirement

Texas state law requires students under the age of 22 attending classes on a Grayson College campus to provide documentation of a meningococcal vaccination within the previous five years or submit a conscientious objection waiver prior to enrollment.

Tuition & Fees

  • $102 per credit hour + applicable fees

Textbooks & Digital Access

  • Inclusive Access textbook fee: $29.50 per credit hour or textbooks are approximately $1,400 total (subject to change)

Required Supplies

  • No program kit required
  • Students should wear jeans and close-toed shoes for laboratory and shop safety

Financial Aid

Full or partial tuition waivers may be available for dual credit students who qualify for free or reduced lunch programs.
