Grayson College Launches Bridge to RN Program to Expand Healthcare Workforce Opportunities
Grayson College is proud to announce the launch of its new Bridge to RN program, designed to provide a streamlined pathway for experienced healthcare professionals to advance their careers and meet the growing demand for registered nurses across Texoma.
The Associate Degree Nursing Bridge Program allows qualified individuals, including LVNs/LPNs, paramedics and military healthcare specialists, to build on their existing knowledge and transition into registered nursing. Upon completion, graduates will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam, opening the door to expanded career opportunities in the healthcare field.
“This program is about creating clear pathways for advancement and meeting critical healthcare needs in our region,” said Dr. Jeremy McMillen, President of Grayson College. “By building on the experience students already bring, we are helping them move confidently into the next stage of their careers.”
The program offers two flexible pathways to meet students where they are:
- Accelerated Cohort (Hybrid): Designed for individuals with at least one year of recent healthcare experience, this 12-month program begins in the fall and combines online learning with a face-to-face schedule that accommodates working professionals.
- Traditional Cohort (In-Person): Beginning in the spring, this pathway is ideal for those without prior work experience and can be completed in approximately 1.5 years.
Students in the program will complete rigorous coursework and hands-on clinical experiences at healthcare sites across Sherman, Denison and Oklahoma, preparing them for real-world patient care in a variety of settings.
“This program was built to meet students where they are and help them take the next step in their healthcare journey,” said Emily Johnson, RN Bridge Program Coordinator. “We are creating a clear, supportive pathway that recognizes the experience these professionals already bring while preparing them with the advanced skills needed to succeed as registered nurses and serve our communities.”
Applications for the Fall 2026 accelerated cohort open April 1, 2026, with a deadline of May 15, 2026. The Spring 2027 traditional cohort application opens June 1, 2026, with a deadline of August 31, 2026.
As Grayson College continues to expand its healthcare programs, the Bridge to RN initiative reflects the College’s commitment to student success, workforce development and strengthening the region’s healthcare system.
