Grayson College Names Doyle Roy as Director of Industrial Technologies

Grayson College is proud to announce the appointment of Doyle Roy as Director of Industrial Technologies. Roy brings a wealth of experience in technical education and workforce development, along with a strong commitment to student success and industry advancement.
Roy has been a vital part of the Grayson College community since 2014, serving as a Welding Instructor at the South Campus in Van Alstyne and as Department Chair for South Campus since 2019. His leadership played a critical role in expanding hands-on training opportunities, strengthening industry partnerships and preparing students for high-demand careers in the skilled trades.
“Doyle is an extraordinary educator and leader who embodies the mission and spirit of Grayson College,” said Dr. Jeremy McMillen, Grayson College President. “His ability to connect with students and help them see a future for themselves in technical fields is truly inspiring. Beyond the classroom, Doyle has built strong ties with business and industry partners, making a lasting impact not only on campus but throughout our entire community. We are thrilled to see him step into this new leadership role.”
Before joining Grayson College, Roy worked at Kiamichi Technology Center in Oklahoma, where he served as Director and Instructor of the Career and Technical Welding Department from 2012 to 2014. His contributions to technical education have been widely recognized, most recently when he was named Grayson College’s 2024 Faculty of the Year.
Roy holds a Master of Science in Organization, Learning and Technology and a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Organizational Leadership from East Texas A&M University. He is also a proud graduate of Grayson College, where he earned his Associate of Applied Science in Welding Technology.
In addition to his academic achievements, Roy is a certified AWS Welding Inspector and Educator and an active member of the American Welding Society, American Petroleum Institute and American Standard for Mechanical Engineers.
Grayson College’s Industrial Technologies Pathway prepares students for high-skill careers through hands-on training, industry-aligned curriculum and close collaboration with local employers. Under Roy’s leadership, the department will continue to focus on innovation, student achievement and workforce readiness.
