FAQ

  • To maintain eligibility and continue to receive tuition assistance, employees participating in the Adult Promise must:

    • Maintain a 2.0 GPA at Grayson College
    • Successfully pass classes with a grade of A,B, or P. At this time all other grades (C,D,F) are not tuition free and it will be the responsibility of the employee to pay for this class before the next set of classes.
    • Apply for FAFSA and Grayson College Foundation scholarship each academic year.
    • Continue to be employed full-time at the partnering employer in which you were initially eligible.
  • An employee may participate at Grayson college for up to four years or 60 credit hours (whichever comes first).
  • The Adult Promise program covers credit course tuition and mandatory fees. It does not cover books, additional course-specific fees, housing or meal plans.
  • The Adult Promise Tuition Assistance is an agreement between TMC and Grayson College that gives TMC employee’s support completing the Grayson College Foundation scholarship, FAFSA, and allows the student to use their companies tuition reimbursement funding upfront to cover the cost of their education.

The Adult Promise Tuition Assistance builds on the Tuition Reimbursement plan TMC offers its employees. Currently, employees completing the Tuition Reimbursement plan are required to save up and pay for their 1st term classes one week prior to the start of classes. To remove this barrier, Grayson College has agreed to delay this payment for TMC Adult Promise students until after the grades have been posted. This will allow students the opportunity to attend their classes and pass with the required grade to satisfy the reimbursement plan, eliminating the hardship placed on the student to pay for the first term. Once grades are posted Grayson College will send the grades to TMC allowing them to process the "reimbursement".
