Texoma Regional Police Academy Offers New Full-Time Day Academy


The Texoma Regional Police Academy will have a new day academy beginning in the Summer Semester.

TCOLE-Basic Peace Officer Course (Day)

Duration varies | Approx. $4000 | Financial Aid and G.I. Bill available to those who qualify

Class starts July 13, 2021. Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Fri. Two days per week physical training from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Course length: 812 Hours - 21 weeks.

If interested, please join us for either of two upcoming Police Academy information sessions. April 1st and May 03, 2021, both are at 10am in classroom CJ101 located in the Criminal Justice Building. Information and application packets will be available at that time. The session is not mandatory, but encouraged. Please call 903-463-8711 or email dixonb@grayson.edu to sign up for either session. Space is limited, Facemask are required.

Requirements:

To be admitted to TRPA students must meet the following minimum entrance requirements:

  • At least 21 years of age at the time of graduation from the course
  • Be of good moral character
  • Provide a completed application form to the Texoma Regional Police Academy and be interviewed personally.
  • Comply with all TCOLE Minimum Standards for Licensing. (Go to http://www.tcole.texas.gov/. Help and Resources; Rules and Policy; Commission Rules; Par 7 Chapter 215; 215.15
  • Submit to electronic fingerprinting, and cleared by TCOLE
  • Take a psychological exam with a reading test score at a 12th grade reading level
  • Gain admission to Grayson College
  • Take and pass a physical exam and drug screen
