Description
The Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Course and exam are designed to prepare the dental auxiliary to become certified to monitor Nitrous Oxide under the direct supervision of their dentist. This course was approved by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners for dental hygienists and dental assistants to obtain certification. The course is intended to provide didactic information to dental hygienists and dental assistants to gain knowledge to understand their responsibility of monitoring the patients when they assist their dentist during the administration of nitrous oxide. This course will cover History and Safety, Patient Monitoring, Effects of N20, etc.
To successfully complete this course you will be required to complete reading assignments and quizzes within each module and pass a Credentialing Examination with a score of 70% or higher. This is a self-navigated course, accessible through your student portal (you will receive information regarding login after you register.) You will have 2 weeks to complete all modules and the Credentialing Exam (see dates below).
