1/21/2020 - RN to BSN Site Visit
Grayson College wishes to announce that in March it will host a site review for the initial accreditation of its RN to BSN program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
Grayson College systems officially began coming back online late Friday afternoon after a cyber security threat that occurred early Monday morning. The College took systems offline to contain the threat and has worked throughout the week to restore services in a safe and secure manner.

The Grayson College Center for Workplace Learning offers fast-paced, skills-focused healthcare training programs in flexible formats that fit into the busiest schedules. The programs for Spring include – Patient Care Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy Technician and Certified Nurse Aide.

Grayson College kicked off the holiday season at Winter Commencement as friends and family watched 315 Grayson College students receive diplomas and certificates Friday morning.

11/25/2019 - Winter Minimester Classes Start Dec. 10
Grayson College is offering two winter minimester's for the Fall semester. The 5 week minimester will start Dec. 10 and end Jan. 9 and the 3 week minimester will start Dec. 16 and Jan 2.

Grayson College announced the official signing of a general articulation agreement with Texas A&M University-Commerce to facilitate the process of student transfer this week. The agreement will serve to make the process of transferring from Grayson to A&M-Commerce as smooth as possible.

Please join us Friday, November 15 at 3pm for the Health Sciences Open House and Dr. Mary Moses Facility Dedication. We will also be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Grayson's Nursing Associate Degree. There will be an EMS Open House for those wishing to learn more about that program.

11/5/2019 - GC students to spend night in a cardboard box
Grayson College Veteran Services will host the “One Night in a Cardboard Box” event presented by the Homeless Coalition on November 15. Students and staff are invited to spend the night on campus in a cardboard box to experience what it is like to be homeless.

Grayson College recently announced the opening of its Food Pantry. The Pantry is open to all students. The Pantry is located on the 2nd floor of the Life Center, just outside the Veteran Services Office.

The Grayson College Board of Trustees voted to bestow Trustee and former professor Jackie Butler the honorary title of Professor of Biology Emeritus during its regularly scheduled meeting this week. This is the first time the college has awarded an Emeritus title.

The Dallas Veterans Administration Medical Center, co-hosted by Grayson College Office of Veteran Services, is presenting the annual Community Mental Health Summit on Thursday, the 26th of September 2019 at the Grayson College Center for Workforce Learning auditorium.
9/18/2019 - Grayson College awarded Texas Pathways Grant
Based on outstanding accomplishments and dedication to student success, Grayson College has been selected to participate in Texas Pathways. The $11 million five-year grant, administered by the Texas Success Center, a division of the Texas Association of Community Colleges, is designed to support the implementation of guided pathways.
Grayson College hosted a check signing for a $437,158 grant from the Texas Workforce Commission to be used for Texoma Medical Center job training Thursday. The Texas Skills Development Fund is facilitated by the Texas Workforce Commission.

8/15/2019 - Texas Historical Foundation Grant
The Grayson College Foundation received a $3,000 grant this week from the Texas Historical Foundation. The funds will be used to purchase equipment that will make it possible for the foundation to contract with UNT Digital Libraries to scan, create metadata, process, upload, and digitally preserve T.V. Munson artifacts, research and publications.

6/24/2019 - Commission on Dental Accreditation Site Visit
On September 24-25, 2019 the Commission on Dental Accreditation will be on the Grayson College campus for the purpose of an accreditation site visit of the Dental Assisting program to determine their eligibility for continued accreditation through the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
Grayson College has recently been approved to offer a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The final step in this approval process has just been completed when the college was approved by SACSCOC as a Level II institution. With this approval, the college is set to begin offering a portion of the courses for the program in the fall of 2019.
Grayson College Vice President of Instruction Dr. Dava Washburn received the Ray Williams Outstanding Leadership Award from the Texas Community College Instructional Administrators this week. This award is given annually to recognize an instructional administrator who exemplifies leadership.
5/20/2019 - Spring 2019 President’s and Dean’s Lists
The GC President’s and Dean’s Lists are awarded at the end of the Fall and Spring semester to students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their coursework. Students must be enrolled in at least 12 hours (full-time) at GC during the semester.

Grayson College celebrates student success at Spring Commencement Friends and family watched as 506 Grayson College students received diplomas and certificates during two ceremonies Friday.

The Grayson Honors College hosted its annual Spring Honors Symposium April 25 showcasing the research projects undertaken by honors students throughout the year. The come and go event gave guests, students and faculty the chance to appreciate these students and their hard work.

3/28/2019 - Grayson College Board Member Resigns
Grayson College Board of Trustee member Ralph Jones submitted a letter of resignation this week following a regular meeting of the board. Jones has served on the board for nearly 50 years and even served on committees that first evaluated the need for a junior college in the area.

The Grayson College Small Business Development Center received six awards including the SBDC of the Year award recently. The six awards included – SBDC of the Year, North Texas SBDC of the Year, North Texas SBDC State Star, North Texas SBDC Administrative Excellence Award and two 2018 Million Dollar Loan Club awards.
Grayson College Foundation Executive Director Randy Truxal was reelected to the Texas Association of Community College Foundations Executive Committee as the Treasure and Foundation Director of Development Kathy Hendrick was elected as a TACCF at large board member recently.
A Texas Workforce Commission Skills Development Grant Check Signing will take place at 1 p.m. on March 7, in the Grayson College Center for Workplace Learning Auditorium. The checks will be Presented by TWC Chair Ruth Hughs and remarks will be by local and state officials.
