About Youth Summer Programs

The Center for Workplace Learning hosts a variety of fun and engaging summer youth programs at Grayson College! Your child can explore their interests, acquire new skills, have fun and meet new friends. Our camp experiences range from four half days to five full days, giving your child opportunities that work for your schedule!

table and learn to cook various savory and sweet recipes in a professional commercial kitchen setting. Dress code
required: Close-toed shoes, hair back in a ponytail.

Fun with Physics 6/2 to 6/5, 2025 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM At camp, participants will collaborate in small groups under the supervision of a Physics Professor to
explore physics through engaging, hands-on projects and experiments. Throughout the activities, they
will have many opportunities to apply creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork while discovering the
exciting world of physics.

1:00 PM to 4:30 PM This exciting summer camp curriculum immerses young scientists in a variety of engaging topics, starting with microscope skills, investigating a simulated infection and creating art with micropipettes. An application submitted by the camper is required to be considered for a Grant Funded Camp. The Grant Funded Camp process is competitive, and space is limited.

  • This week-long camp is open to students in incoming 6th, 7th and 8th grades and features a tech-centric coding adventure.

  • It’s Back! Embark on an exhilarating journey through the world of STEM at Robo Tex's Summer Youth Camp! Delve into hands-on robotics and mechanical engineering projects that tackle real-world challenges. Students with an interest in STEM should sign up for this camp which utilizes VEX-IQ robots.  Join us to hone your practical skills and unleash your creativity. Robo Tex camp is your gateway to realizing your dreams. 

    With three levels—Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced—this competition-style camp promises an electrifying experience filled with innovation, teamwork, and endless possibilities. Join us and take the first step towards a future brimming with excitement and success!

  • Join us at Grayson College's Youth Camp, where innovation meets opportunity! Our commitment to fostering a skilled workforce aligns perfectly with the needs of our growing manufacturing hub. With the BEACONS grant, we've bolstered our resources, hiring top-tier electrical energy faculty and investing in cutting-edge training equipment. This means our Youth Camp participants will dive into hands-on experiences that tackle the pressing demands of alternative energy sources and energy storage solutions, a growing area in our region.

    At our camp, students won't just observe – they'll engage. Through engaging activities, participants will have the opportunity to code robotics to execute fundamental concepts, providing a dynamic introduction to the diverse fields of engineering. From mastering the art of soldering circuits to unraveling the intricacies of machinery and its pivotal role in manufacturing processes, campers will develop practical skills and gain invaluable insights into the world of technology and engineering.

    Safety is paramount in our environment, especially as students interact with large manufacturing equipment. We kindly request that participants come prepared with close-toed shoes and secure ponytails to ensure a safe and enriching experience for all. Join us as we spark curiosity, ignite passion, and empower the workforce of tomorrow at Grayson College's Youth Camp.

    Jolts and Volts camp offers half-day classes from Monday to Thursday, running from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM. These sessions are exclusively available at our South Campus in Van Alstyne, Texas. Join us for an electrifying experience packed with fun and learning!

Requirements and Procedures

Career Exploration Camps

  • Please visit the link associated with the camp that you wish to enroll in and complete the attached form.
  • You must complete 1 application per camp that you wish to attend. 
  • A link will appear when you complete your registration for you to complete your payment please do so immediately. 1 payment is needed per each camp. 
  • Our system will not allow you to process a payment if the camp is full, however you would have the option to be wait listed.
  • Camper will not be enrolled until payment is received. Space is limited, so do not delay. 
  • You will be sent a confirmation email once your student has been enrolled in the camp. (please allow up to 48 hrs for confirmation, weekend registrations may take longer to process)  For Career Exploration Camps

 Refunds/Transfers/Wait List 

  • Due to limited space in all of our camps we can not guarantee that we can move your camper into another camp or section.
  • Refunds will be given ONLY if received 2 weeks prior to the camp date.
  • We must be notified via the withdrawal request form if you wish to withdraw or request a transfer.
  • Should you be waitlisted, someone from CWL will call you to let you know a spot is available.

Grant Funded Camps

  • Please visit the link associated with our Grant funded camps and select the camp that you wish to apply to.
  • Camper should complete the essay questions in the application and not the parent/ guardian.
  • Selected campers will be notified on or before May 30th, 2025 at the email provided in the application. At that time, an email will be sent which will have further enrollment information.
  • Campers may be given the opportunity to attend a camp other than that of which they originally applied.
  • Space is limited, if for any reason you are unable to attend please let us know immediately so that we can  award that slot to another camper.
