American Heart Association Courses

Grayson College offers a wide variety of American Heart Association training.

Do you need customized training for your workplace? Contact us to arrange to have one of our American Heart Instructors design a training program for your team. Classes are available at your location or ours, and can be taught face-to-face or hybrid online. The common classes we teach are: 
  • CPR,
  • First Aide,
  • Blood borne pathogens,
  • AED.

Basic Life Support - BLS 1000

4.5-hour class is geared towards prehospital providers, like EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and in-facility hospital providers.

Basic Life Support Skills Check Online - BLS 2000

This is a hybrid course. You must purchase and complete the online portion, HeartCode BLS®, prior to registering for this class. You must also print and bring your completion certificate with you the day of the course.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support - EMSP 2035

ACLS is geared towards healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies or personnel in emergency response. You will need to complete the ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment (e-learning.heart.org/courses/423) and print it to bring with you to class.

Pediatric Life Support - EMSP 1047

PALS is geared towards healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children and for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units. You will need to complete the PALS Precourse Self-Assessment (elearning.heart.org/course/427) and print it to bring with you to class.

Community Heartsave/First aid/CPR/AED - BLS 3000 

Heartsaver course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner.
