GC Veterans Services Update

In an effort to better serve students, Grayson College has recently begun relocating the Veteran Services offices from their current location on the 2nd floor of the Life Center to the northwest corner of the same building on the same floor. The Veteran Services Office provides services and support for Veteran Affairs and State of Texas education benefits.

In addition to certifying benefits, the VSO will continue to answer questions and provide assistance with Financial Aid and Scholarships. The VSO serves the needs of all military-affiliated students, prospective student veterans and dependents with uniquely tailored campus and community resources. The office works with other campus offices to focus on the transition and retention of veterans.

Moving into the space vacated by the VSO is the office of Counseling and Social Services. The relocation of offices will provide a better opportunity for Counseling and Social Services staff to serve students from the Food Pantry and Grab & Go station.

Both offices will be moved and ready to serve students when the campus re-opens January 3. Also in January, discussions concerning the Veteran’s Hub, currently located adjacent to the offices, will begin among students and employees. There is no set timeline for the transition to occur.
