Why Agricultural Science?

The Agricultural Science A.S. degree prepares students with clear transfer pathways to complete their bachelor of science and/or specialize in any number of agricultural science fields.

The Agricultural Sciences Program can provide students with the following:

Program Focus

A graduate with an AS in Agricultural Sciences should possess competencies in basic economics and management, plant and animal operations, pest control, production and utilization of plant and animal products, marketing, and food sciences. Students interested in animals, wildlife, plants, biology, chemistry, engineering, economics, environment, technology, genetics, business, marketing, and more can all find an exciting and fulfilling career in agriculture.

Partnership with TAMU

The Grayson College Agricultural Sciences program has a strong partnership with the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Texas A&M University-Commerce. We have an official articulation agreement that allows Grayson college graduates with an Associates in Agricultural Sciences to transfer into the agricultural programs at Commerce with their Freshman and Sophomore years completed. The collaborative relationship between the Grayson College and TAMU-Commerce programs allows students to smoothly transition into a Bachelor of Science pathway in Agriculture.
