an honors section?
No, provided that spaces remain
in that section. Only members of
the Honors College receive pre-enrollment
privileges to ensure their participation
in honors sections.
How does a student enter GCC's Honors
College?
Be a high school graduate or have
a GED
Automatic acceptance upon application
with GPA of 3.4 (B+ average), ACT
of 23, or SAT of 1070
Or two letters from faculty or employers
testifying to excellent intellectual
ability and leadership ability

How does a student succeed and continue
in GCC's Honors College?
Continued enrollment in at least
one honors section/long semester
And GPA of 3.2
And continued service learning,
which may include GCC extracurricular
activities
And no violation of GCC's academic
integrity policy or disciplinary
code
What are the benefits of enrolling
in GCC's Honors College?
For Freshmen
Eligible to receive
a Honors College Scholarship ($700/semester
and residence hall scholarship) for
your sophomore year at GCC. These
Honors College Scholarship can be
stacked on top of other academic
awards. Students are nominated for
scholarships by faculty teaching
honors sections.
Students enrolled in
GCC's Honors College pre-register
1 week before other students to ensure
their opportunity to enroll in honors
sections
For Sophomores
Upon completion of
A.S. degree, graduation recognition
and transcript documentation from
the Honors College with satisfactory
completion (A's or B's) of 5 honors
courses and evidence provided of
service learning equivalent to 15
hours/semester
Better positioned to
compete for national and institutional
merit scholarships upon transfer
from GCC to another post-secondary
institution
