and professional public safety officers
and office staff to help create a safe
environment in which to work, learn, and
play. College public safety officers are
certified by the Texas Commission on Law
Enforcement Officer Standards and Education
and are commissioned by the college board
of trustees as peace officers. Additionally,
most officers are also certified as either
Emergency Care Attendants or Emergency
Medical Technicians by the Texas Department
of Health and are certified as structural
firefighters by the Texas Commission on
Fire Protection.

Once the alert sirens are sounded, all persons should move to a designated campus
shelter area. For a complete description of procedures and shelter locations,
contact the college public safety office or click here .

boosting of dead vehicle batteries, and assist persons who find their vehicle
with a flat tire. Officers also provide on site security for athletic and other
special events being held on campus.
