Grayson College is Going Green!

Grayson College has implemented a new recycling program! The library is our pilot area before eventually expanding campus wide. We encourage faculty, staff, and students to actively participate in our recycling effort. There are 2 bins located at each of the entrances of the library. The custodial staff can collect the recyclables from the centralized stations located throughout the library. The following describes what can be recycled in our recycling program...

 

Paper ONLY Bin:

 

  • Paper (unsoiled & dry)
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Catalogs
  • Letters
  • Envelopes
  • Paperback books
  • Junk mail
  • Shredded paper
  • Manila folders
  • Stationery 

 

Cans, Glass, Plastic ONLY Bin: (Must be EMPTY)

 

  • Plastic Bottles (remove lids & labels)
  • Aluminum cans
  • Tin cans
  • Glass bottles 

 

Trash (Please keep these items out of the recycling bins):

 

  • Plastic wrap
  • Styrofoam
  • Paper plates
  • Thermal paper
  • Diapers
  • Napkins
  • Zip lock bags
  • Sandwich bags
  • Food
  • Liquids
  • Tissue
  • Batteries
  • Electronics

 

 

We will expand the list of recyclable items once we implement the recycling program campus wide.
