Ohm Page

Welcome to the Ohm Page, the home page of the Grayson County Community College's Electronics Club!  Thanks for stopping by.  Feel free to come back often, since we are constantly updating the information contained on our pages.

In electronics, we study the behavior of electrons, subatomic particles of negative charge that orbit around the nucleus of an atom.  The illustration to the left is the classic representation of an atom.  The red circle in the middle is the nucleus, which consists of several different types of subatomic particles.  The two most notable nucleic particles are called the proton (with a positive charge) and the neutron (which has no charge).  The electron orbits are represented by the black bands encircling the nucleus.

The Electronics Club was organized by the electronics engineering faculty and students in 1993.  This year, we are attempting to become more visible through record keeping and consolidation, newsletter publication, and a presence on the Internet.  Through the attention to record keeping, we are trying to establish and maintain our links to the past.  By expanding our activities in the public arena, we are trying to grow and to provide a link to the future.
