Materials Weeding Policy

The criteria that will be considered before material is removed from the Grayson County College collection include:

Appearance: This criterion calls for extreme caution to avoid discarding rare books, and for judgment to decide whether or not the volume should be replaced.
Duplicate or Superfluous Volumes: Unneeded duplicate titles; Inexpensive reprints; Older, superceded editions
Poor Content: When information is dated; When book is poorly written; When information is incorrect; When improved editions exist
Specific Classes of Books that Particularly Lend Themselves to Weeding: Books that should never have been bought; Inaccurate history books; Subjects of little interest to a college because of the curriculum.
