Materials Weeding Policy

The criteria that will be considered before material is removed from the Grayson County College collection include:
Appearance
This criterion calls for extreme caution to avoid discarding rare books, and for judgment to decide whether or not the volume should be replaced.
Duplicate or Superfluous Volumes
Unneeded duplicate titles
Inexpensive reprints
Older, superceded editions
Poor Content
When information is dated
When book is poorly written
When information is incorrect
When improved editions exist
Specific Classes of Books that Particularly Lend Themselves to Weeding
Books that should never have been bought
Inaccurate history books
Subjects of little interest to a college because of the curriculum.
