Information Technology Assistant (Library)

 

 

 

Job Overview:

Library Assistants work closely with the professional library staff and report directly to the Dean of Information Technology.  As integral members of the Information Technology staff, they work as part of that team to provide support and services to campus wide functions, as well as support functions confined to the library

 

 

 

Duties:

Coordinate and maintain college print and online catalogs

 

Assist patrons with computers and electronic databases:  Microsoft Word, Email, Internet, EBSCO Host, etc.

 

Complete special projects as assigned by the Dean: compile telecourse handbook, set up CBT accounts

 

Assist with Technical Services duties: catalog books, compile and update bibliographies, prepare and maintain library statistics, organize and update library procedures manual, assist with weeding library collection, process books

 

Assist with circulation duties: open library, check materials in and out, issue library cards, shelve books

 

Assist patrons with reference questions including ordering interlibrary loan materials

 

Help supervise and train student workers

 

Conduct library tours
