Academic and Career services are designed to assist students in
achieving academic and personal success through informed decision
making and academic planning. We are dedicated to assisting
students in obtaining their educational objectives while attending
Grayson College. Academic advisement connects students to their
educational and career goals. Below are our specialized services
which are designed to meet the individual needs of our

Deciding A Major
Career Services are available to assist
students with career planning.

An Academic Advisor will assist you in developing a personal
educational plan that integrates your academic, career, and
personal goals. You will learn the curriculum requirements for your
major and the process for selecting courses, including
understanding pre-and co-requisites as well as the sequence in
which courses may be taken. If you are planning to transfer and
have decided on your major and transfer institution, Academic
Advisors can help you understand the transfer requirements. They
can also provide you with general information about the college,
policies and procedures, and your student rights and responsibilities
Academic Advisors Help You:
- Obtain information about placement testing, courses of study
available at Grayson, and the appropriate scheduling
procedures
- Interpret placement
scores
- Determine exemptions from assessment requirements Students must
present proof of exemption at the time of registration:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree or higher from an
accredited institution.
- College credit hours within the past five years from a
private or an out-of-state public institution with grades of A, B,
or C in approved courses in all three skill areas.
- Eligible test scores indicated below

While the ultimate responsibility for decision-making rests with
the student, academic advisors are a valuable support for students
effective educational and career planning.
Advisement is offered during the semester prior to registration,
registration period, and schedule change period.
Academic Advising services are offered on a walk-in basis.
After completing the online orientation, you should meet with an
academic advisor or counselor to plan your first semester courses.
