Assistant Network Director
Assistant Network Director will be responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, and trouble-shooting of the college network infrastructure, consisting of servers, workstations, printers, IP phones, distance learning devices, firewalls, routers, switches, storage systems, point-of-sale, wireless access points, cabling, and fiber-optic media. In addition to these duties, the applicant will assist with various media technologies utilized with instruction, and should be proficient with MS Office products.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field, or an Associate’s degree with proven commensurate experience. An Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience (particularly knowledge of SQL databases) may substitute for the degree requirement on a two-for-one basis. Previous employment experience managing MS Windows based servers and workstations. Experience with server operating systems (Windows Server 2008 R2/2012, Open VMS), web stack and database operations (Apache, MySQL, PHP), storage services and servers (SAN, NAS, SMB, NFS, ISCSI), AND .NET Framework. Knowledge of Ethernet switching, routing, LAN/WAN topology and protocols. Familiarity with IP based phone and messaging systems, working with a managed IP based network, and associated LAN equipment.
